Antiseptic

An Antiseptic is a substance that is applied to living tissue in order to reduce infection, sepsis, or putrefaction. An antiseptic is applied topically and is distinguished from an antibiotic, which is typically taken internally, and a disinfectant which is applied to non-living objects. [1]
